Laser cutting
2024-03-20

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to vaporize materials, resulting in a cut edge. We service automotive, agricultural, construction, appliance household, and mold-making industries.

Laser cutting must be combined with CNC processing or welding to produce the required products, and enable us to precisely cut a wide variety of metals and thicknesses, catering to the unique specifications of each project. In general, laser cutting services have become less expensive, more efficient, able to make more precise cuts, and more versatile (new wavelength bands, etc.). As time goes on, this trend will continue. If you have any quota, please contact us now!

CAD Design:

The first step in laser cutting is creating a digital design or CAD file of the part or pattern to be cut. These include part material, required tolerances, part dimensions, the preferred laser cutting system, and the position of the head or nozzle.

Laser Cutting Operation:

Once the setup is complete, the laser-cutting process begins. A high-powered laser beam is emitted from the laser source and directed through a series of mirrors and lenses to the material surface. The laser beam is focused into a small, intense spot, which heats and vaporizes the material at the cutting point.

Cutting Parameters Adjustment:

During the cutting process, operators may adjust cutting parameters such as laser power and cutting speed, and assist gas pressure to optimize cutting quality, minimize burrs, and prevent material overheating or melting.

Exhaust and Fume Extraction:

Laser cutting generates smoke, fumes, and debris, which must be extracted from the cutting area to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Laser cutting for metals has the advantage over plasma cutting of being more precise and using less energy when cutting sheet metal.

Laser Cutting Benefits

First, laser cutting produces parts with nearly zero edge deformation, roll-off, or edge factor. This means that very little burring is left on their cut edges. Second, with consistently quicker turnaround times, laser cutting is faster than other tool-fabrication methods. Another great thing about laser cutting is its use of CNC machinery, which translates to the requirement of fewer technicians and the assurance of greater safety. Finally, laser cutting services are versatile, varied, and very efficient. While creating many options, they create little waste.
